Heather Spurlock Kennealy

A noted environmental law and litigation attorney who has secured significant judgments in North Carolina, Massachusetts, Rhode Island, and Louisiana courts for her private, commercial, and governmental clients. Heather S. Kennealy brings to her dual practice significant high-level experience in complex hazardous and solid waste, lead paint, petroleum, air emission, water pollution, septic system, UST and wetland matters. She also has experience in right-of way disputes, alternative energy leasing and contract negotiations.

Client-dedicated and responsive, Heather works to offer her clients excellent service and creative solutions to complex environmental problems, leading them through each step of regulatory processes and helping them achieve their goals. 

Her reputation as a leader in environmental law is the result of more than a decade of important work representing clients in state and federal courts and appearing before numerous state, federal and local regulatory commissions and public entities.  Before joining The Branan Law Firm she worked for the U.S. Coast Guard in their Claims and Litigation Section primarily as agency counsel in the Deepwater Horizon oil spill in the Gulf of Mexico. This provided once in a lifetime training in emergency response measures and oil spill relief.  She has also worked for leading boutique environmental law firms in Boston (McRoberts, Roberts, & Rainer) as well as in Raleigh (Law Office of F. Bryan Brice, Jr.) She continues to collaborate with Mr. Brice on large environmental litigation matters.
