A Family Attorney with an Insider’s Perspective of the Courtroom
Before joining the Dummit Fradin team, Brett Moore was a magistrate for North Carolina for a number of years. “Being a magistrate gave me a knowledge of procedure and the judicial system that most attorneys don’t have. I was also a witness to situations and circumstances that few of my clients will ever face. But if they do, I have been there, I have seen it, and I know how to fix it.”
As a magistrate, Brett had a window into the decision-making process that goes into a Judge’s order or a decision. Having been trained by the State of North Carolina to hand down decisions helps attorney Brett Moore to cater arguments to what Judges are looking for.
Brett Moore is a North Carolina native and has lived most of his life in High Point. After attending Wesleyan Academy in High Point, Brett went on to get his BA in Economics from UNC Greensboro, and his JD from Elon University School of Law.
He earned his license to practice law in 2010. Since then, he’s represented clients in every possible aspect of District Court. Attorney Brett has successfully defended numerous parents in termination of parental rights actions and has represented hundreds of clients in child support and child custody cases. As an experienced litigator, he’s conducted more than 250 trials and hearings in District Court.
“There is no situation that can be as scary as the future as it deals with family. When people are in times of turmoil and uncertainty, I love being able to guide them through the legal process and help them to know what is going to happen and to fight for the things they value.”
In his spare time, Brett is a woodworker, does leather work, and folds origami. Brett loves a road trip, having driven to and from California and to Alaska.
