Biography
I enjoy the "people" aspect of practicing law. Whether it be my clients, opposing counsel, or the opposing party, I work hard to understand that each individual comes into a situation with their own perspective and life experience, and that by understanding these concepts I can work more effectively to bring conflicts to resolution. I am a passionate advocate for my clients, but I understand that not every point needs to be argued over, and that judges and juries appreciate an attorney with a "big picture" view. For the last ten plus years, I've had the privilege of representing juveniles facing charges ranging from shoplifting and simple affrays to assault with a deadly weapon and attempted murder. It's important to get to know these clients and their families as they go through what is an often confusing, difficult time in their lives and to let them know that the charges aren't the end of their story, and that the future holds so much promise for them.
A little about my personal life: I am an avid reader-I prefer fiction and biographies. My office is full of Lego sets-my personal meditation practice. I love sports, racing, and music, although work and family obligations mean I don't get to as many live events as I did in the past. My wife is a PhD Chemist working in the microchip manufacturing industry. We have two wonderful boys that keep us busy with hockey, basketball, and many other activities. My family and I also enjoy traveling and spending time outdoors-hiking, playing golf or tennis, and camping.
