I am not accepting new clients at this time as I'm closing my Winston-Salem office and joining a firm in Wilmington effective June 1. I've enjoyed practicing law here in Winston-Salem since 1987. I worked for 29 years with a local law firm with a broad general practice before joining a major regional insurance defense firm for almost two years. I am happy to have finally opened my own firm in 2018. I have always devoted a significant part of my practice to civil litigation concentrated in landlord-tenant and insurance matters. According to , my peers rate me as having high legal ability with very high ethical standards. I am a member of the North Carolina State Bar, the North Carolina Bar Association, The North Carolina Association of Defense Attorneys, and The Forsyth County Bar Association. I am also an associate member of the Property Manager's Division of Winston-Sale Regional Association of Realtors where I periodically teach classes on landlord-tenant topics. Beyond the practice of law, I am a certified lay speaker in the United Methodist Church and serve as a lay leader in my local congregation. I greatly enjoy hiking and kayaking and spending time with my wife of nearly 30 years, our two daughters, and two Maltese dogs.

Excellent Choice For A Landlord / Tenant Attorney
I've been a landlord here in Winston-Salem for nearly 35 years. Unfortunately, I've had to evict several tenants during that time. Occasionally, i would hire an attorney to handle a case for me for various reasons. I would only hire Mr. John Fonda ever again if i needed one. I've had occasion to use ...

Highly satisfied landlord
I hired Mr Fonda to help me with the eviction of some tenants I had renting my home. I had never had to do this and new very little of the whole process. He was very knowledgeable, helpful and patient with me and always available to answer my questions (and I had many). He went above and beyond my e...
