Stephen Michael Ball

So at the age of 68 I found myself facing six serious felonies. Potentially facing 20 to 60 years in prison. A life sentence for me… I’ve known Steve Ball for a number of years and was aware of his reputation as an accomplished criminal defense attorney. We had the good fortune to know in advance that I was to be arrested. Even prior to my formal arrest Steve started conducting as much damage control, and inquiry as he could. When the inevitable day finally arrived, he arranged for me to surrender for arrest, Sparing my family and I the angst and embarrassment of a home arrest. Steve negotiated a very reasonable bond with the magistrate, thus allowing me to return home within four hours of my arrest. I was able to remain free and go about my life while I was awaiting trial. I took the time to put my affairs in order in anticipation of going to prison for the rest of my life. Three years later, Steve was able to negotiate a plea deal with the district attorney. One felony was dropped, and I was offered 4 to 7 1/2 months of active jail time with three years of probation. On my day of judgment, Steve did an excellent job defending me before the court. In fact, during my allocution Steve realized that I was about to get myself in trouble with my own words. He asked the judge permission to interrupt me… At which time he whispered in my ear that I was making a very serious mistake and told me how to proceed… or not to proceed. I deferred to his counsel and abbreviated my statement. After which Steve did a masterful job of explaining away my unfortunate utterances to the Judge. Through some miracle of mercy, the judge sentenced me to 60 days active jail time, with three years of probation. An act of mercy that I am very grateful for. I can tell you with the earnest sincerity, that Steve Ball, without question, saved my life. I’m now 13 months into my three year probation and everything is going well. Your charges and circumstances may be simpler or more complex than mine… Whatever your situation is, you need the best possible outcome that you can get. You need Steve Ball to represent you. Mr. Ball has a remarkable knowledge and understanding of the nuances of the law. He has also a very good strategist. He is tall, fit, smart, and deferential in court. I hired Mr. Ball for a larceny case, my 3rd, and he was able to get me with 75 hours community service and probation, instead of jail.
