Carrie Vickery joined the Holton Law Firm in 2009 after she received her law degree with a litigation concentration from Elon University. While at Elon, Carrie was the founder and President of the Elon Law Democrats and a member of the Women’s Law Association. She received her B.A. in Political-Science from Western Carolina University and went to high school in Winston-Salem at the North Carolina School of the Arts where she played the oboe. Carrie practices both civil and criminal litigation, and concentrates her practice in family law.
Carrie is admitted to practice in all federal district courts in North Carolina and the 4th Circuit Court of Appeals. Carrie is a member of the Fee Dispute Resolution committee for the 21st Judicial District Bar. She is a member of the North Carolina Bar Association’s Family Law Section and serves on several committees within the section. Carrie also serves on the Women in the Profession Committee of the North Carolina Bar Association. She is a past President for the Forsyth County Young Lawyers Division, and a past Vice-President, Secretary, and member of the Forsyth YLD Board of Directors. Carrie is an adjunct professor at Forsyth Technical Community College where she teaches Business Law, Family Law, Ethics and Professionalism to paralegal students. Carrie is a past item writer for the North Carolina Certified Paralegal Exam. Carrie has also spoken on topics within the field of family law at continuing legal education.
Carrie enjoys her involvement with Winston-Salem, and serves on the Board of Directors for the Junior League of Winston-Salem. She is a member of Reynolda Presbyterian Church. Carrie is a member of the Personnel Committee for the Children’s Museum and joined the Board of Directors for the Children’s Museum in 2014. Carrie is a member of the Women’s Fund of Winston-Salem, a division of the Winston-Salem Foundation. In addition, Carrie was appointed and served on the University of North Carolina School of the Arts Board of Trustees from 2012-2013. She is a past member of the Board of Directors for the Liberty Community Development Corporation and a past volunteer reader at Easton Elementary School. Carrie has received several awards including an Outstanding Women Leader’s Award from the City of Winston-Salem in 2015, a 2014 Winston <40 Leadership Award, and a Special Recognition Award from the Winston-Salem Chronicle at their 2013 Annual Community Service Awards Banquet.
