OUTCOME: Guilty Plea vacated, and case remanded back to the Grant County Superior Court. Case was dismissed.

The first State in the USA to apply the US Supreme Court's decision in Padilla v. Kentucky, in holding that criminal defendants are entitled to be warned of the specific immigration consequences prior ... to entering a guilty plea. I represented Mr. Sandoval at his first motion to vacate at the trial court and also at the Div. 3 Court of Appeals.
