I was thirty-three years old when I began my first year at Wake Forest University School of Law. A highlight of my law school accomplishments include winning my first year Moot Court competition, competing in Chicago and New York Moot Court competitions and membership in The Order of the Barristers. I graduated from Wake Law in 1993, a single mother with two children, Neil (now 35) and Linda (now 29).
I began my legal career as Regina L Robinson, working for Attorney Sarah S. Stevens in Mount Airy, North Carolina, and opened my own office in Mount Airy in January of 1995. In 1998 I married Attorney James D. Gillespie and moved my office to Dobson, North Carolina, to be closer to my new home in Jonesville, North Carolina and my new blended family.
I am a member of the North Carolina State Bar, the North Carolina Bar Association, the Twenty-Third District Bar Association, past President of the Surry County Bar Association, past Secretary/Treasurer of the Twenty-Third District Bar, a member of the National Association of Counsel for Children, a 2015 Nationally Ranked Top 10 Attorney by the National Academy of Family Law Attorneys and a member of Elkin Presbyterian Church.
