Matthew John Ahearn

Mr. Ahearn is an attorney-technologist with thirty-seven years of experience in information systems management and application development, including twenty-six as a practicing New Jersey attorney and legal technology consultant for law firms, legal application developers,  and regulated business entities.  Matthew is admitted to practice law in New Jersey state and federal courts. He has worked with corporate counsel, IT teams, and trial attorneys on technology selection and deployment projects as well as on numerous high-stakes legal matters globally managing large and complex digital evidence collections, ESI processing teams, attorney analytics, and document review teams. Before inovating legal and technical solutions to modern electronic discovery issues Matthew practiced Internet law, commercial litigation, State and Municipal government relations, and land use law representing New Jersey municipalities, property developers, and community associations.

Prior to attending law school Matthew was a research level systems analyst and computer security manager for the Illinois Institute of Technology Research Institute where he consulted on information retrieval and environmental computer modeling systems development and technology transfer projects for the Department of Defense Electromagnetic Compatibility Analysis Center.  He is a graduate of Rutgers University where he received a Regular Commission in the U.S. Army Signal Corps and served as a Paratrooper in the 82nd Airborne Division.  He received his J.D. from Hofstra University School of Law and completed an internship in the Essex County Prosecutor’s Office in Newark, NJ.
