While I was assigned to the Major Crimes Unit at the Clark County Prosecutors Office, Mr. Lewis' three cases were the subject matter of a combined prosecution. Mr. Lewis, first engaged in a Burglary a ... nd Robbery into a residence. He escaped in a stolen vehicle only to victimize another couple in their home. Mr. Lewis tied up the female victim and then engaged her husband in a struggle for a firearm. Mr. Lewis did these things while being armed with a fire arm. Finally, Mr. Lewis was a convicted sex offender who had failed to register. Mr. Lewis pleaded guilty and was sentenced to 27 years on all the matters. OUTCOME: This was win for my Client!

When I was a Senior Deputy Prosecuting Attorney, I was assigned to Mr. Berndt's case. Mr. Berndt had been involved in a dispute over some form of property with the victim. Mr. Berndt shot the victim ... multiple times at close range and the fled to the State of Oregon. Mr. Berndt pleaded guilty to Attempted Murder in the Second Degree and was sentenced to 30 years. OUTCOME: We won this one!

While I was a prosecutor, one of my more difficult matters involved the prosecution of controlled substance homicide. The victim, Adam Hurd, had spent a great deal of effort trying very hard to stop us ... ing heroin. Mr. Otto, a heroin dealer, knew that Adam Herd had made these efforts and that Adam had a history of overdosing. I prosecuted three defendant's in relation to a controlled substance homicide and other charges. The end result was a co-defendant accepted a plea offer for testimony. In the end Mr. Otto was convicted by the jury of the charges of Controlled Substance Homicide. Suzan Clark was Mr. Otto's attorney. I learned a great deal from Ms. Clark through out the years. I was a very tough trial. When I was a Senior Deputy Prosecuting Attorney, attached to Major Crimes Unit I was assigned to Mr. Ammon's matter. Mr. Amon was driving recklessly along Highway 14. The victim was in the back sea ... t of Mr. Amon's convertible. Mr. Amon began to drive recklessly and the victim fell out of Mr. Amon's vehicle. Mr. Amon saw the victim hit the ground. He didn't stop or render aide in any manner. The victim died as result of falling out of the vehicle. Mr. Amon pleaded guilty and was sentenced to 30 months. When I was a Senior Deputy Prosecuting Attorney attached to the Major Crimes Unit I was assigned to Mr. Hall’s matter. Mr. Hall was a wanted felon and was contacted during the early hours of the 26th ... of December 2010 by CCSO Deputy Sheriff’s Deputy Rob Ternus. Deputy Ternus was unaware of the identity of Mr. Hall upon the initial contact. Mr. Hall provided Deputy Ternus with false information as Mr. Hall was aware of his wanted status. Deputy Ternus challenged the authenticity of the information provided and Mr. Hall began to run. In the course of the foot chase Mr. Hall was able to get into Deputy Ternus’ marked patrol vehicle, which contained an an assault rifle. Mr. Hall was already a convicted felon. Mr. Ternus then tried to run Deputy Ternus over with the car. Deputy Ternus fired once at Mr. Hall grazing his side. Mr. Hall ws successful in stealing the patrol car, but missed Deputy Ternus. Mr. Hall had many pending counts of identity theft for which he was also being sought. Mr. Hall was not interested in accepting offers and proceeded to trial. Mr. Hall was convicted by the verdicts of a jury on the charges of Assault in the 2nd Degree, Theft of a Firearm and Felon in Possession of a firearm in the First Degree. On the 7th of September 2011 Mr. Hall was sentenced to 26 years in prison on all of his related matters and he waived his right to appeal.

State v. Andrew Wright (1st Degree Assualt and 1st Degree Robbery)

OUTCOME: We won this one; Successful outcome for my client

While I was a prosecutor attached to the Major Crimes Unit, I prosecuted Mr. Andrew Wright and another individual Armado Castillo Munoz who engaged in a strong arm robbery and shooting of a resident of ... the Red Haven apartments in Vancouver. Mr. Wright went to trial and was convicted by a jury in less than an hour. Mr. Castillo-Munoz after Mr. Wright's trial had concluded opted to accept a plea offer for a prison sentence of 15 years. Mr. Wright’s attorney, Suzan Clark, (now Judge Suzan Clark) put on a formidable defense. However, the jury concluded that there was sufficient evidence beyond a reasonable doubt and convicted Mr. Wright. Mr. Wright was sentenced to 23 years in prison. OUTCOME: Sucessful outcome for my client; Combined three jurisdiction settlement

While, I was a prosecutor assigned to the Children’s Justice Center, I was assigned to prosecute Mr. Mark A.Hoffman. He was being prosecuted by the United States, District of Oregon, Multnomah County ... , and The State of Washington, by the Clark County Prosecutors Office. I worked for months with multiple defense attorneys and United States Attorney General’s Office , and the Multnomah District Attorney’s office. As a group we worked out a stipulated 50 year sentence and Mr. Hoffman accepted. The facts as to the abuse of infant children in this matter were horrendous.
