Biography

At McGraw Law, P.C. we compassionately help real families solve very real problems. We understand that to most people family is the single most important thing, and the most important relationships in their lives. We also understand, and take the approach to our practice, that despite the parties' inability to get along, and the reality that in some instances members of the family will be ultimately better served in no longer remaining together under the same roof, the family nevertheless does not have to be destroyed.

We always remember that regardless of how many clients we represent, the individual client's family is the only one they have. Therefore, their case is always the most important, and we try hard to never lose sight of this reality. In all domestic and family law cases we protect and uphold our client's rights to the maximum extent allowable under the law, in order to obtain for them every single benefit and privilege to which they are entitled. At the same time we work hard to foster and encourage a loving, healthy and nurturing family relationship as much as possible for all involved.

My mission is to provide effective legal representation to all clients at all times; to obtain for them all rights and privileges to which they are entitled under the law to the maximum extent possible; to always maintain open and clear communication with the client on all issues pertaining to their case; and to always provide prompt, competent, and compassionate legal services.

We offer a 30 minute, initial, free, no-obligation consultation. Our standard hourly fee (for attorney time only; no support staff services are billed at all to the client in our firm), for cases in which we charge an hourly fee, is $250 per hour. However, many cases lend themselves to a flat fee, or other alternative fee arrangement. The actual fee to be charged of course will depend upon the specific facts and circumstances of each individual case, and therefore will need to be discussed personally and individually with each client.

SUPER HERO LAWYER

Patrick McGraw was literally heaven sent! I had been battling a nasty custody fight with my child's father for 10 years! After 5 lawyers, 4 guardian ad items and $6,000+ later...NOTHING ever got ruled in my favor. I'm a single mother with limited financial resources. I needed a 'NO NON SENSE" type of... lawyer who would not only listen to me but take me and my dollar seriously! Patrick is also organized, knowledgeable of the law and has experience! He did not waste anytime on my case! He filed subpoenas and other court documents ON TIME! He kept it real with me at all times regarding the details of my case. Regardless of how ugly it was, he was HONEST! He worked with me when it came time to pay him. He didn't try to 'price gouge' me or make it about money. When I first hired Patrick, by the time I explained to him what was all done to me and how my son was suffering as a result, Mr. McGraw already could see through what was happening and how I got 'railroaded'. This Lawyer has the discernment and experience to see through foolishness! Again, this is what makes him a 'no-nonsense' lawyer. As a result of his assertiveness and doing his due diligence, I FINALLY WON A LONG AWAITED CUSTODY BATTLE! It was a breeze!!! 5 Stars is an understatement

In April-2014 I found myself in a situation whereby my initial attorney for my divorce didn't wasn't effective in my case, so I consulted with Pat. From our initial meeting he was very personable, extremely knowledgeable and explained clearly the issues, laws and possible outcomes involved in my case.... Over the 5 year period of representing me, Pat displayed enormous compassion, very knowledgeable and quite impressive in the courtroom. He is organized, professional, timely, full prepared, extremely effective in the courtroom as well as having a fantastic insightful manner. He has always been straight with me regarding what he thought we could and couldn't accomplish. His reputation proceeds him, he is well respected from opposing attorneys that I've came in contact on a personal level. His compassion is not merely talk he practices it. I'd recommend him to anyone, truly a caring attorney that will represent your interests terrifically.

Stay away from him

Been years ago when he was at his other practice in Roanoke but this man told me I needed to take my son and hold him from the mother or the court was just gonna keep postponing the court date. He showed up late to every court date. I got called night before court cause he hadn’t looked at any of pap...erwork I had given him. I got crucified for taking his advice when I probably should have been on phone with CPS about why court had already been postponed 4 times and was threatening to be postponed again while I had no idea when I could see my son.

Steer clear

If you want a lawyer that shows up to court late misses court cases doesn’t return calls or emails misses his office appointments and is simply arrogant than this is your guy! You think with all the money he gets from people he would hire a secretary what kind of lawyer doesn’t have a secretary? This review is left by Jerriann "Jerri" Gizzarelli. I can say that because I have NEVER represented Jerri Gizzarelli. If I had represented her then her identity would be protected by attorney-client privilege. I did NOT represent her, so her identity is therefore not protected, no matter how "anonymous" she tries to make this "review." Jerri Gizzarelli is in fact the EX of one of my clients whom I helped successfully get a new custody and visitation order of his children. Jerri Gizzarelli is evidently very bitter about the fact that I represented her ex so successfully, and therefore has left this entirely FRAUDULENT AND FALSE review. It is unfortunate that it is possible to leave such a false and fraudulent review without any verification of ever having hired the person reviewed. Equally unfortunate is the reality that this is neither the first nor will it be the last time such a fraudulent review(s) has been left. Such is the nature of the internet in this day and age. Truly sad.

Take Heed and steer clear of this attorney, If your hard earned dollar holds any value at all!

I also had Mr McGraw for child custody yes he does put on a wonderful sale pitch that you buy into, however when he offers 5000.00 flat fee no matter how many times he has to represent you in court how many 3rd party calls he has to make, so when time to file a show cause he charged an additional 150...0.00 only to withdraw in the courts, he was a no show on one of our appointments we drove in for, he doesn't return phone calls or emails I requested numerous times copy of agreement when I retained him, Also late filing after 180 day review and then filed with the Incorrect childs last name and then lied and stated the one with the incorrect last name never made it to the courts only to receive in the mail the order with the incorrect childs last name and where the judge signed off on the order and stamped by the courts. Not to mention not very organized and cannot keep track of instances and situations you spoke with him in deepest regards related to the child, then gets irate and irritated when you call him inquiring on information, was never notified when filing a show cause the opposing party also had and was never notified until I showed up in the courtroom, Everything he tells you he thinks he can get out of them on the stand nothing is ever put fort and then when you question him why he didn't bring them to the stand he states "he didn't have any new information" Now I had sent my last email in November never have received a call or email in Return Kinda makes you think of Steve Miller Band"Take the Money and Run" Not to mention he had taken pictures also with his phone I reckon to impress us, however none of that was put before the courts. Let me elaborate on his motto "We help real Families created more Real Problems

I regret this client's frustration, but it comes from our having obtained a very favorable outcome for the client in our initial representation; unfortunately other matters later developed after the original case had been entirely concluded and resolved and closed, which the client had a hard time understanding constituted new cases, requiring new work, and yes, new fees for the additional work. We proudly stand by the initial favorable outcome obtained for this client.
