Typically, in a divorce or subsequent custody order, parents are restricted to have the child live in a certain county, and its contiguous counties. Moving out of state with child, away from the other ... parent, can be extremely difficult as it is prohibited by the Order. However, it is not impossible. In a recent jury trial in Denton County, we were able to secure a jury verdict which allowed my client the right to move out of Texas with the child to another state. This allowed her to take a job out of state, remarry and start a new life.
