Nicholas Conte

Nicholas C. Conte is one of Virginia’s premier corporate law attorneys. As Chairman of Woods Rogers and of our Corporate Law Group, he concentrates his practice in corporate and business law for start-up companies, closely held businesses and public companies throughout Virginia.

He has handled a wide range of corporate and business matters, representing companies in a variety of industries, including high tech, biotechnology, services and manufacturing. Nick has extensive experience in mergers and acquisitions, corporate governance, contract law, computer law, Internet business matters, succession planning, venture capital and financing.

Nick is vice chair of the Virginia State Bar’s Business Law Section and is a member of the Business Law Section of the Virginia Bar Association and the American Bar Association. He also serves on the Corporate Governance Committee of the ABA’s Business Law Section.

He imparts his wisdom as an adjunct professor of law at Washington and Lee University Law School, where he teaches a class on corporation finance.

Nick’s many media accolades include being named a Legal Elite in Virginia Business magazine, and making the lists of Best Lawyers in America and Virginia Super Lawyers magazine. He’s also been recognized by The Roanoker magazine as one of the top business attorneys in the Roanoke Valley.

Nick is an active member of the community, serving on the boards of directors of The Virginia Economic Bridge, United Way of Roanoke Valley, the Roanoke-Blacksburg Technology Council and Roanoke Symphony Orchestra.

He received both his undergraduate degree and his law degree from the College of William & Mary.
