Biography
Erin B. Ashwell is an associate in Woods Rogers' Litigation Section. A native of Bedford County, Erin is licensed to practice in Virginia and California.
Erin graduated magna cum laude from Harvard college University in 2002 with a degree in Government. Prior to attending law school, Erin worked as a staff assistant in the United States Senate.
Erin earned her J.D., cum laude, from Harvard Law School in 2006. While in law school, Erin was a Virginia Governor's Fellow and a summer associate in an international law firm in Washington D.C. and in Hong Kong, China. Erin was also a Teaching Fellow in the Harvard Government Department, where she was awarded a certificate for distinction in teaching.
After law school, Erin worked as a trial lawyer for the United States Department of Justice, frequently litigating in California. She has also been a lecturer in Political Science at Hollins University, and most recently a pro se law clerk, and temporary clerk to the Honorable Michael F. Urbanski, United States Magistrate Judge.
