Unprofessional/ Waste of Investment
I’m only just now deciding to leave this review in hopes that I save others the trouble/loss. I paid Attorney Watson full retainer fee up in hopes that I could maintain custody of my child. Not only was she late to court but she was completely unprepared. I was truly better off going in on my own rat...
I am always prepared for court, and in 26 years of practice I only have seen custody lost from a client twice and that has been the result of crucial facts which were withheld by the client that were not favorable. It is very important that clients divulge all pertinent information even if it is negative. When we lawyers are blindsided with relevant information at trial that a client has omitted, we cannot present evidence to the contrary if not advised in advance. As lawyers, we do our best with such land mines, but undisclosed negative detrimental facts strongly influence the judges decision so you must advise the lawyer in advance. Also, I am rarely late to court, so it is highly likely that there was a traffic accident. As noted in my reviews, I represent my clients zealously. Also, it is very rare for a judge to delay their ruling, and issue a written opinion later. This normally means they weighed many factors and wanted to give careful consideration to their decision. We lawyers have no control over the timing of that final decision and since it is sent via mail occasionally clients receive it before counsel. This has only happened twice in my career and when it happened about four years ago, I was out of the country when the judge mailed the decision, so the client received it before I did so I did not know the Judge had ruled nor his decision since I was out of the country. You posted anonymously because your review and recitation of the facts is not true. The judge’s decision was based on the negative fact you withheld which was presented by the opposing party, and I was prepared & represented you zealously as I have the other 800 clients I have served in the last four years.
