Smart, thorough, honest and fair

You’d be hard pressed to find a better attorney than Jim Theuer. He is extremely intelligent, thorough, fair and above all honest. He was able to explain rather complex legal precedent in a way that I understood. I highly recommend him to anyone looking for a straightforward and fair-minded attorney ...who thoroughly understands and respects the law.

This individual was provided services in a consultation. Unfortunately, he had waited so long before seeking legal help, and had tried to represent himself through multiple proceedings, that his ability to obtain any remedy was compromised. He was unhappy with this information, but the law applicable to his situation was clear. The important lesson is to not wait until it is too late to seek legal advice. Early intervention is crucial to preserving your rights and remedies.

Had Us Fooled

We hired this lawyer for a very important case. We were very pleased with the work he was doing. He returned phone calls and emails promptly and was available for phone consultations at first. When we started to feel he was not adequately prepared for our case we voiced our complaint over the ph...one and in writing what we were dissatisfied about. It was our right to do so because, we were paying him. He became very aggressive and very rude and unprofessional to us in an email. He refused to turn over the information we paid him for, to use in an upcoming case. We tried repeatedly to contact him via phone and email to discus the bill once we received it. When we finally got him on the phone to discus some of the disputed charges on his invoice, he told us "we signed a contract and if we did not pay, he would send it to collections." Then he abruptly hung up the phone." Very rude. We have never had an attorney to act like this before. Now We are expected to pay a bill for services that were not fully received, He refused to address our concerns over the disputed portions of the bill. This situation is unfair to say the least, because ordinary people are at a huge disadvantage when faced with challenging an attorney about a legal dispute. Why should we have to pay for disputed services being billed for on the invoice without fair discussion about our concerns? It just boils down to, shut up and pay or else.

Professional Review of Jim Theuer's work as our attorney

Jim did an outstanding job representing our organization. He was completely personable, professional and effective in conducting our legal affairs. He obtained an excellent outcome for us in a very difficult and complex matter. He contained the costs and was extremely fair in his billing for servi...ces. He gave us the opportunity for input and listened to our concerns regarding the litigation. In short, I have total confidence in his ability, integrity and superior skill as an attorney.

"Whenever I have a client seeking assistance with a labor or employment related issue, I refer them to Jim Theuer. In fact, I was doing that today when his AVVO profile came up and I stopped what I was doing to write this review. I have found his work to be consistently strong, and my clients have always given me positive feedback on the referrals I have made to him. He is responsive, knowledgeable and a pleasure to work with. I particularly like that he practices in both Virginia and North Carolina, as I do as well, and often have clients who need assistance on both sides of the border."
