Daniel Truitt Stillman

Dan joined Davey, Brogan & Meals as a litigation associate in 2014. His current practice involves assisting in the firm's representation of vessel owners, marine terminal operators and other shore-side commercial entities. Along with his colleagues, Dan provides 24-hour marine incident investigation and casualty response services for the firm's clients. He is also active in the firm’s cruise ship practice, and advises foreign passenger vessel operators on a host of issues, including international and federal maritime regulation of the cruise industry, as well as local port compliance matters.

Dan received his law degree from the Syracuse University College of Law, and earned a Masters of International Relations from the Maxwell School of Citizenship and Public Affairs. He has a B.A. from the Johns Hopkins University, where he double-majored in History and Spanish, and was a two-sport varsity letterman for the Johns Hopkins Men's Water Polo and Swimming Teams. Prior to joining the firm, Dan worked in the Office of the Post Judge Advocate, Carlisle Barracks, United States Army War College, as well as the Army's Peacekeeping and Stability Operations Institute.

Dan is admitted to practice in both New York and Virginia. He is a member of the New York and Virginia Bar Associations, the American Bar Association, Maritime Law Association of the United States and the Virginia Maritime Association. Dan is fluent in Spanish and is currently learning French.
