Erica Lee Pero

Erica Pero is a business and healthcare attorney who focuses on helping businesses who interact with the healthcare industry.

Erica’s unique background gives her a different perspective than other health law attorneys in Hampton Roads.  After law school, Erica worked in-house at Sentara Healthcare on mergers and acquisitions totaling over $800 million.  In addition, as a former medical and pharmaceutical representative, Erica has first hand knowledge of the challenges that businesses in the healthcare industry face each day.

Her proficiency rests in the state and federal healthcare regulations impacting day-to-day business decisions such as HIPAA and regulatory compliance, employment matters, and corporate strategy. 

She also assists her clients with larger projects including mergers, affiliations, partnerships, dissolution, and joint ventures. Her primary practice area is corporate health law, and her expertise thrives in helping health care providers and businesses navigate the web of complex regulations governing the industry. 

She advises clients on various health law issues, including Stark, anti-kickback, HIPAA, telemedicine, corporate strategy, and anti-trust.

Erica graduated from Vanderbilt University in 1999 and Regent Law School in 2010.  At Regent, Erica was awarded the Corporate and Transactional Law Award, and served as the Senior Editor on the Regent Law Review. 

Erica lives in Virginia Beach with her husband, daughter, and two large dogs.  She enjoys spending time with her family, boxing, cooking, home improvement projects, travel, and enjoying the wonders of Hampton Roads.
