Jack Rephan

I have been representing contractors, subcontractors, suppliers and owners involved in the construction of public and private construction projects, and in the procurement of supplies and services by public bodies, for over 50 years involving a miriad of legal issues as well as representing clients in the arbitration, mediation and litigation of contract disputes. My services range from bid protests; contract review and interpretation; drafting of contracts; payment and bond claims; contract terminations; mechanics liens; claims for extra work and change orders; delays and unforseen site conditions; contract terminations and other matters arising under or relating to federal, state and local construction or other types of government contracts. I have experience in litigating cases relating to construction in the courts of Virginia and the Federal Courts, as well as federal agency boards of contract appeals. I also regularly serve as an arbitrator and mediator on the American Arbitration's National Panel of Neutrals. I am an active member of several construction industry associations and am a frequent lecturer on construction law subjects as well and an author of articles and other publications dealing with matters of construction law. I have served two terms as the chair and as a member of the Board of Governors of the Virginia Bar's Construction and Public Contract Law Section.
