Cartwright Rixey Reilly

Cartwright Rixey Reilly serves her clients in the areas of business transactions, real estate, banking, and estate planning and administration.  Cart has experience representing businesses, banks, individuals, and families with their various needs concerning succession planning, commercial and residential real estate, business transactions, the formation of corporate entities, as well as landlord-tenant issues and estate planning and administration matters. She has also lectured in the areas of landlord-tenant rights and estate and trust planning.

Cart grew up in Virginia Beach and then attended the University of North Carolina in Chapel Hill, NC. After college, she worked on a dude ranch in Wyoming and a ski resort in Colorado, before returning to the east coast and working in Washington, DC. In 2010, Cart received her J.D. from The Catholic University of America, Columbus School of Law, in Washington, DC, where she served as Executive Editor of the Catholic University Law Review.  She was admitted to practice in the Commonwealth of Virginia in 2010 and served as a Judicial Law Clerk to the Honorable Charles E. Poston and the Honorable Karen J. Burrell of the Norfolk Circuit Court, where she gained valuable experience learning from both judges and local practitioners.

Cart is active in the community, currently serving on the CHKD Future Generations Board and the Board of Directors for the Norfolk & Portsmouth Bar Association Foundation. She devotes time to serving on various committees for the local bar associations and has previously served as the Chair of the Young Lawyers Section of the Norfolk & Portsmouth Bar Association. Cart is an avid Tar Heel fan and enjoys spending time outside and with her husband and two young sons.
