Jonathan Michael Lazarow

Jonathan Lazarow is a founding member and co-chair of the Corporate Group at AML, where he leverages his extensive experience in mergers and acquisitions (M&A), corporate governance, and preferred equity investments to advise a diverse range of clients. With a strong foundation in business law, Jonathan works closely with entrepreneurs and companies at every stage of growth, assisting with business formation, fundraising, compensation structures, and securities law.

Before his career as an attorney, Jonathan managed an investment fund, where he was responsible for investing in and advising domestic and international businesses in the retail, beauty, and consumer packaged goods (CPG) sectors. His background as a former business owner—growing his family’s business into the largest family-owned jeweler in the U.S.—gives him a unique, hands-on perspective on the challenges and opportunities facing entrepreneurs.

Jonathan’s deep understanding of both law and business has earned him recognition as one of CoVa Business’ Top M&A Attorneys in 2022 and 2023. He is also a respected member of the Virginia Bar Association Business Law Council, where he contributes his expertise to shaping business law policy in Virginia.

In addition to his legal and business work, Jonathan is passionate about the arts and is an avid collector of both 19th-century and contemporary art. Outside of his professional pursuits, he enjoys playing tennis, watching football, and exploring the vibrant art scene.

Jonathan holds an A.B. from Dartmouth College, an M.Sc. in Management Studies from the University of Oxford, and a J.D. from the University of Richmond. He is licensed to practice law in Virginia.
