Savvas Daginis is a cross-border business and privacy lawyer licensed in Illinois, Washington, DC, and Ontario (Canada). His application to the Virginia bar is pending. Savvas focuses on two general practice areas:
(1) Business, E-commerce, and Corporate Law; and (2) Privacy, Artificial Intelligence, Cybersecurity, and Information Technology (IT) Law.

1. Business Law: Savvas advises clients on a wide range of business matters, including incorporation, business restructuring, and cross border expansion. He drafts, reviews, and negotiates commercial agreements and contracts, including business purchase and sale agreements (including mergers and acquisitions (M&A)) and technology agreements involving managed IT services, software licensing and development, cloud computing, outsourcing, e-commerce, data protection and privacy, cybersecurity, and artificial intelligence.

He additionally provides transactional support for significant data acquisitions, including those within M&A deals, and his practice also includes advising clients on advertising, anti-spam, and marketing laws.

2. Privacy, Cybersecurity, and Information Technology (IT) law: Savvas guides clients through the maze of cross-border data-privacy laws and helps clients optimize data processing practices and develop privacy-by-design principles. Savvas also helps businesses implement cybersecurity controls, related standards, and best practices, and he helps clients and their sales teams develop playbooks for their services agreements to assist them in the negotiation process with their own clients and vendors.

In crisis situations, Savvas offers real-time cybersecurity incident response support to mitigate damage and maintain regulatory compliance.

Privacy Officer Services: Savvas, as a Certified Information Privacy Professional (CIPP) in Canada and the U.S. (CIPP/US and CIPP/C), offers virtual, external privacy officer services, and he supports: (a) data lifecycle planning, (b) the development of consent and data flow charts, along with A.I. and other privacy-related policies, (c) the creation of policies and procedures for privacy impact assessments (PIAs), data protection assessments, transfer impact assessments, and (d) the drafting, maintenance, and negotiation of data processing agreements.

Outside of work, he enjoys playing rapid chess, going to the gym, and starting each day with the news and a cup of coffee.
