Biography
I have lived in the Williamsburg area for over 33 years and find Williamsburg a wonderful place to live and raise a family. I am a veteran of the U.S. Army, and my husband is retired from the Army. We have two adult children. I founded my law firm in 2010 to assist individuals and families in preparing for all of life's transitions. My firm is cient-focused, and our only goal is to do the best job we can for our clients. Relationships are most important, and we view our clients as members of our extended families. We want clients to feel comfortable and confident that we will be there for them when needed.
The sole focus of my firm is estate and tax planning. We are not litigators; we are planners. With proper planning, I have found that most litigation can be avoided. But there is more to estate planning than writing a will or a trust. The documents are the end result of the planning. Planning involves evaluating not just what the client wants to happen, but how best to make that happen. Planning involves looking at the assets, how they are titled and whether there are beneficiaries named. Planning involves evaluating the tax consequences of a particular disposition. Planning involves educating the client to ensure the client understands the end result and that it fits with their individual goals and objectives.
Our clients know the peace that comes with knowing that their affairs are in order in case the unexpected happens. Death is a part of life; it cannot be avoided; it will find each and every one of us eventually. But understanding what will happen at your incapacity and eventual death brings peace and makes the transition easier on your family.
