Mr Knode is very young and new to the legal profession so I didn't expect too much and his prices were reasonable. I took a chance because he was recommended by a friend.
However, I soon learned that he was vastly outmatched by my ex's attorney. He refused to listen to me when I suggested a certain legal strategy. When it later proved that this strategy would have been effective, he refused to admit it. He was quite arrogant for one so young. The most effective thing he did during my case was to take my advice and call some of my ex's boyfriends and talk about a subpoena. I still got charged for all this even though it was my idea and he really didn't want to do it.
The real clincher was when he started sharing confidential information from other cases with me. And then to cap it off, I found out he was discussing my case with our mutual friend. And he told my wife's attorney how she could get more money from me from an source she previously was unaware of. When I questioned his bill, he took me to court and sued to get his final payment. No discussion, just used the judicial system insider route to try to get paid and even added on some extra fees to top it off.
Don't hire Mr. Knode if you aren't willing to have your opponent's attorney run the table. He is not a take charge kind of guy and has a lot to learn. And hopefully he will learn something about discretion if he is going to stay in this business. I spent 4 hours in his office doing his job because he hadn't prepared well. At least he didn't charge me for that.
Endorsements from fellow lawyers are an important consideration for many when selecting the right attorney. Be the first to endorse your colleague!
