A collection agency had a judgement from 12 yrs ago, yet try to renew it and send me a check for what they garnished previously

If the judgment expired already and they did not renew it, then it is gone. Also, being more than 10 years old means that it isn't on your credit...

The other side cannot enter into an agreement and then later decide that they forgot to add something to it.

Unless the debt was forgiven or the statute of limitations has run, you still owe the money and they can come after you for it.

If you have counter-claims, it gets more complicated. Basically, raise a defense or waive it.

Check your case, but I doubt you actually signed a reaffirmation agreement and had it entered. Few, if any, attorneys sign these because the code...

They can always ask. Whether you let them or whether they can subpoena anything on it is another question.
