Grand Larceny
Dec 17, 2012OUTCOME: Nolle Prosequi - my client now has no criminal record from this charge and can apply to have their charge expunged.
My client was charged with Grand Larceny (VA 18.2-95) which is a felony involving wrongly taking $5 or more from a person or taking goods worth $200 or more. A conviction carries a maximum prison term ... of 20 years, plus the potential for other penalties. I argued that the prosecution could not prove my client had taken anything, and the charge was dropped.
