Ryan Thomas Fitzgerald

Ryan "Fitz" Fitzgerald is a partner at Flusche & Fitzgerald with more than 15 years of experience on both sides of the Virginia courtroom. He spent 12 years as an Assistant Commonwealth's Attorney in Stafford and Fairfax counties, prosecuting cases ranging from first-degree murder to routine traffic offenses and training police officers in trial preparation. His work on a decades-old cold-case homicide drew national attention on Dateline NBC.

As Stafford County's specialty prosecutor for its Traffic Safety Unit, Fitz built deep experience in DWI cases involving blood draws, toxicology, and expert testimony, later leading a prosecution team focused on that forensic docket. He now brings that insider perspective to the defense side, handling misdemeanor DWI through DWI maiming and manslaughter charges, and identifying the legal issues that can strengthen a client's position or lead to acquittal.

Fitz holds a J.D. from George Mason University School of Law and belongs to the Fredericksburg Area Bar Association.
