She also has gained extensive experience working with clients to obtain unlawful presence waivers and has assisted university faculty and other professionals with permanent residence through national interest waivers and outstanding professional or researcher categories.
Ms. Shuford is also an active member of the American Immigration Lawyers Association and has volunteered on various committees. She started as a member of the New Members Division committee and has been the Virginia State Bar liaison for the past two years.
Ms. Shuford received a B.A. cum laude in Political Science and French from Hood College, and J.D. cum laude from the Catholic University of America, Columbus School of Law, where she served as a member of the prestigious Vis International Arbitration Moot Court Team. Ms. Shuford is admitted to practice in Virginia, Maryland, and the District of Columbia. She speaks Spanish, French, and Croatian, and has lived on three continents.
