HIGHLIGHTS OF MILITARY EXPERIENCES

·         Twenty years of military service. Commander in Judge Advocate General's Corps (JAGC).

·         Licensed attorney with the State Bar of Georgia since 1983.

·         Proposed legislation in Louisiana that is now law protecting military discharge records from public disclosure and identity theft.

·         Recommended changes to laws regulating the military legal system, which were adopted by Congress and the President. These included allowing the military to collect over $20 million a year in previously uncollected reductions in rate and forfeitures of pay; giving Special Courts-Martial more power so more complicated General Courts-Martial need not be done as often; and raising the felony threshold for various property crimes from $100 to $500.

·         Successfully conducted over 1000 adverse military personnel actions involving fines, demotions, and discharge actions of which none were overturned on appeal or review.

·         Published 120 legal related articles saving service members and veterans millions of dollars.

·         Provided legal assistance services to over 20,000 military personnel and dependents.

·         Instructor at Naval Justice School and guest lecturer at Naval War College graduate level courses. Presented 20 five-day Senior Officer Legal Courses, averaging 80 students per class, around the country and overseas. Have trained thousands of other personnel.
