Biography
I have been a practicing corporate attorney for many, many years. And dispite what this site claims, I have never been disciplined by any bar association anywhere. I did have a disagreement over bar dues and inactive status activities arising from a serous family member criminal legal issue in California. Rather than pay the legal fees associatied with contesting that issue which was a very minor and, on the advice and direction of my legal counsel, I chose to resign since I had not practiced there for years.
I am a memeebr in good standing in two other bar associations (to whom I diclosed the California issue and whoafter throughly look into the issues, determined there was NO VILATION of any sort and no action was recommended or taken. PERIOD.
I have asked this site to at least add a clarifcation of the facts but they have refused unless California approves it and they are not going to do so until they get their payments.

“The "charges" were exceeding the scope of activities allowed on inactive status (a very, very minor issue) and apparently most importantly to the California Bar, failure to pay associated dues and fees. Since I had no longer practice there, on the advice of local counsel, I resigned rather than pay the exorbitant amounts. And despite the date given, this occurred in approximately 1994 - 25 years ago.”
