Brett Coffee is Computer Systems Center Incorporated’s General Counsel and Vice President of Business and Corporate Affairs for the Springfield, Va. based defense contractor.  Brett worked as a founder and General Counsel for the SemperComm Foundation, that provided morale and communications solutions to remote overseas military bases.  Before these positions, Brett worked in-house in California’s technology industry and in private practice in New York City, working with innovative companies and significant global corporations in the area of international transactions and securities matters.  Mr. Coffee has received a B.A. in Political Science from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, a J.D. from Fordham University School of Law and an LL.M in Corporate and Business Law and a Diploma in Taxation from the University of San Diego School of Law.  He is a member of the state bars of New York, California, DC (inactive), Virginia, Illinois (inactive) and the United States Supreme Court.  An Eagle Scout who trained at the Olympic Training Center in Colorado Springs, CO, Brett is a member of Leadership Fairfax’ Emerging Leadership Institute Class of 2007 (where he was elected class representative), a member of the 2008 Sorensen Institute Political Leaders Program, was a Board Member of Leadership Fairfax, Inc., Springfield District Representative and Secretary to the Fairfax County Citizens Corps Council; Springfield District Representative and former Chair to the Fairfax County Small Business Commission; member of the U.S. Chamber of Commerce Corporate Leadership Advisory Council; Chair of the Urbana Campus Alumni Advisory Committee; Board Member and past Events Chair of the Washington, D.C alumni club; past Scholarship Chair and Board Member of the San Diego Illini club; and past President and Board Member of the Illini Club of Greater New York City (each club winning the Outstanding Club award from the UIAA during his tenure).  He was honored as a Community Champion by Volunteer Fairfax, as a Rising Star by Virginia Super Lawyers and as the Top Washington Lawyer in the General Counsel category and the 40 Under 40 by the Washington Business Journal.  Brett currently lives in Burke, VA and is married to Lara, a former All-American soccer player who graduated from the OneMBA program through the University of North Carolina.
