Being a relatively younger individual diagnosed with multiple rheumatic diseases, it was hard trying to find a lawyer to take me seriously or even take my case. After losing my initial appeal, I was very discouraged and didn’t think I would get awarded with SSD. I've learned 2 things as the parent of a special needs child. 1) There are a lot of brick walls to be knocked down. 2) When someone else already knows how to knock them down, ask them for help!
