My construction practice is a soup to nuts practice helping clients draft and negotiate contracts, resolve disputes during projects to avoid litigation, and, if that does not work, using creative strategies to resolve matters quickly. I have filed and litigated numerous mechanic's lien and bond cases, worked on power plant projects on several continents, numerous sports facilities in North America, and a host of hospital projects as well as retail shopping centers, hotels, and office buildings.

My litigation practice overlaps with the construction practice, but has included a number of non-construction cases ranging from salvage rights to the Titanic to disputes over implementation of complex software used to run a business. I have tried numerous jury trials, and countless bench trials, including several cases in the so-called "rocket docket" in the Eastern District of Virginia. Many of my cases are resolved in mediation or arbitration.

My insurance pracitce is limited to coverage disputes, and is principally related to counselling clients on how to position matters to maximize use of coverage.
