You get what you pay for

I was referred to Mr. Levine by a coworker to help supplement a defense with an advisory opinion to help reduce my charge to a misdemeanor as the charge I was facing could have triggered removal proceedings as I am an LPR. After paying Mr. Levine, the criminal attorney handling my matter phoned him,... and Mr. Levine indicated he had never been hired by me even though I just spoke to his assistant an hour beforehand asking where the advisory letter was. I expected a letter advising, in detail to the prosecuting attorney, the hardships that would be created for me and my family if he/she did not reduce the charge such as separation and the financial burdens imposed on my wife and child. All I got was a paragraph specifying what law subjected me to removal. Ridiculous. I could've written a better letter myself. Thankfully my criminal attorney is really good and the charge was reduced anyways, which hopefully will keep me off ICE's radar until I file for citizenship. Do yourself a favor and steer clear of this guy and spend the extra money for a competent attorney.

Avvo Rating

Our Rating is calculated using information the lawyer has included on their profile in addition to the information we collect from state bar associations and other organizations that license legal professionals. Attorneys who claim their profiles and provide Avvo with more information tend to have a higher rating than those who do not.
