William Joseph Lyden

William J. Lyden was referred to me by the Virginia Bar Association. As well as being a remarkable individual in general, I cannot say enough great things about Mr. Lyden and my experience with him during my child custody/support case. He was conscientious and assertive, and he gave me guidance and... support throughout the entire, year-long process. He stayed on top of things, was a good communicator, and was equally responsive to my questions and concerns. He was always prepared and extremely knowledgeable on every aspect of the case. He diligently researched a less common area of the law regarding support which, in fact, applied in my case. I don’t believe just any attorney would go to such trouble. He had great ideas which were implemented as part of my custody plan. During every court proceeding, he displayed a strong presence, demonstrated great intelligence and composure, and was unwavering in his proactivity on my behalf. I had the added component of being an ‘out of state’ client, so distance was an obstacle for me. Whenever possible, Mr. Lyden took advantage of all available technologies to keep me up to date while saving me travel expenses, as well as, appearing in court on my behalf with regard to the less important proceedings of the case. Even in my darkest moments during the process, he added humor and light-heartedness which helped to keep my spirits up. He was compassionate and encouraging. He became a caring friend to my children while teaching them about court proceedings in the event they needed to testify. They ultimately were never required in court since his work on the case was more than enough to bring it to a successful resolution. Mr. Lyden was a tremendous resource to me.
