Petit Larceny Dismissed!

On November 3, 2024, I reached out to Crowley Peritz Law following an incident that resulted in a petit larceny charge on November 1, 2024. Prior to my engagement with Crowley Peritz, I had consulted with two other attorneys in the vicinity; however, I found myself uncomfortable with the prospect of ...retaining their services. The previous attorneys approached the situation as if it were a mere business transaction, with one paralegal even questioning, "Why should we represent you?" This was not the reassurance I sought during a critical time requiring legal support. On that Sunday, during the late morning hours, I came across an article detailing Seth Peritz's representation of a client involved in the events of January 6, 2021, in the United States District Court for the District of Columbia, commonly referred to as the "Capitol Riot." It became clear to me that I needed to locate Seth and secure his representation. From our initial conversation, Seth exhibited a reassuring demeanor while demonstrating his competence as an attorney. He possesses a thorough understanding of the court system, including the judges and prosecutors, as well as their respective tendencies. His approach is characterized by kindness, compassion, and genuine concern for his clients. He takes into account the broader context of the situation, recognizing not only the charges at hand but also their potential impact on daily life and overall well-being. He provided me with explicit guidance regarding the necessary steps to secure a favorable outcome. In my experience within the helping profession, I have come to understand that while a provider will exert every effort to assist, the onus ultimately lies with the client to engage in the requisite work. Seth outlined the actions I needed to undertake, and I committed to those efforts, which yielded positive results. On December 19, I arrived at the Fairfax County Courthouse, where the detective who had summoned me failed to appear, despite Attorney Seth having issued a subpoena for his attendance. It appeared that the prosecutor was inclined to seek a continuance of the case; however, Seth was actively advocating on my behalf while I observed various cases on the docket. I witnessed individuals accepting plea deals from prosecutors and others grappling with the complexities of the legal process without the benefit of legal representation. This was disheartening, and I found myself expressing gratitude for having found and retained Seth. Eventually, my name was called, and I was not required to approach the podium. I heard the judge declare, "Nolle prosequi." Seth responded, "Thank you, Your Honor," closed his file, and exited the courtroom. I was nearly convinced that I would enter the New Year burdened by this issue; however, Seth's determination proved otherwise. Seth's value is immeasurable, far exceeding the fees he charges. His rates are exceptionally fair, and his responsiveness is commendable. Unlike many law firms where communication is often filtered through paralegals, Seth ensures direct access; he is readily available via email, text, or phone call. His replies are prompt, and in the rare event that he is unable to respond immediately, he will follow up and inform you accordingly. In this society, regardless of the charges one may face or the privileges one may possess, the necessity of retaining legal counsel remains paramount. The adage "History is written by the winners" holds true, and Seth exemplifies this notion as a preeminent attorney in the Virginia region. While I sincerely hope to avoid requiring his services in the future, I aspire to draw upon his extensive knowledge and expertise in my professional endeavors. Seth is truly exceptional, and I pray for his continued health and well-being, so that he may assist those in need of his legal acumen.

Charges dismissed!

Every lawyer I contacted told me about how they would get me a good plea deal but Seth was the first one who said "I think we have a case" and "I didn't become a lawyer to take plea deals." And man did he deliver. Throughout the whole process Seth would respond to texts quickly and kept me informe...d about everything. I recommend you tell Seth EVERYTHING, even medical things. There's things he can use in his case that you might not think are relevant but could be game changers. If Seth thinks you have a case, he'll tell you, but he wont recommend you to take the risk of going to trial, you have to make that decision for yourself. In the court room I saw dozens of people with similar charges to my own, each of them taking the exact same plea deal that the other lawyers wanted me to take. Seth was the only one who took it to trial and he fought hard. As the trial went on, Seth would do research on the fly based on the prosecution's arguments, to poke holes in them, all while playing 4D Chess, positioning his arguments for all possible scenarios, going on for hours without letting up. In the end, it was the simple evidence he provided in the beginning that won the case, the rest was... theater? strategy? A mix of both probably. It worked. The point is, all charges were dismissed. Seth is the best lawyer I've ever experienced.

Personal professionalism

I had a misdemeanor that was upgraded to a felony once I left Va. Ultimately, I was detained out of town on a fugitive warrant and held for about a month. During this time, Seth worked harder toward getting me back to Va than my local representation. After I got back, Seth got me bonded out within a ...matter of hours and my case was dismissed. He is currently working on expunging my record. Throughout this process Seth has been diligent and professional, and showed concern for me and my situation. This was my 1st (and hopefully last) legal encounter, but I appreciate his effort and will certainly recommend Seth for all legal defense matters going forward. Thank you!

Mr. Peritz was awesome

Mr Peritz was patient & very kind during our consultation which fortunately inclined me to speak with him and go with him. He was great in court & very heroic. He became akin to a blood brother in the parking lot after our win in court as I disclosed intimate familial details & my relief over the dis...missal of an inequitable baseless charge.

"Being a great criminal attorney requires the knowledge of how to build out a criminal defense. It’s not easy, it’s time consuming, and some of the work is meticulous and often behind the scenes. To do it, and do it consistently, you must be focused and committed to your client, pay attention to details and willing to do the small things which, in turn, add up to big things. Seth shows up everyday, in every case, and is wholeheartedly committed to the success of his clients. The results he’s achieved, the result published here, are but a small fraction of the satisfied clients that Seth has represented. He’s a tremendous talent, big brained, strong professional ethos that drives his commitment and the results you see here on AVVO. Your case, large or small, simple or complex, will be thoroughly explored, researched, thought-out, and presented to a prosecutor, judge or jury. That’s what great attorneys do - every time. Seth is a great attorney whom I proudly endorse."
