Herson Merino is a bilingual Spanish speaker who was born and raised in the Northern Virginia area. Being the son of El Salvadorean immigrants, Herson has witnessed firsthand the struggles non-native English speakers face trying to communicate their stories. Herson received his undergraduate degree from George Mason University in 2012. He graduated with honors from The University of Columbia David A. Clarke School of Law in 2015. While in law school, Herson obtained his student bar license and provided over 700 hours of legal assistance, which included vigorous criminal defense representation, to D.C.’s most vulnerable and indigent residents. In addition to being in the court room while in law school, Herson served as an Articles Editor for the UDC Law Review.
After graduating from law school, Herson was admitted to the Virginia Bar, and worked as an associate attorney at a local Manassas law firm. Due to his fluency in Spanish and excellent advocacy skills, Herson handled most of the criminal litigation at the firm. As a result, Herson was able to litigate and favorably resolve over 100 cases in the Virginia General District Courts, Circuit Courts, and Juvenile and Domestic Relations Courts.

Smart, Caring, Hard Working
In a post-divorce matter, Mr. Merino was able to give strong, sound guidance. His knowledge of the law was evident, and at the same time he listened with empathy. I would recommend him highly for advice or representation in the legal system.

Positive experience
Brilliant young mind. He is passionate and well researched, and while I ended up not needing his services, he walked me through every option, fully outlining the next steps in my case. It's evident he excells and devotes his time to each client.
"I worked with this lawyer on a complex series of DUI cases, and working together we were able to secure a great result for the client despite the seriousness of the case. In working with Herson, he was very professional, knowledgeable, responsive, and a great advocate for his clients. Great lawyer."
"I've known of Herson's excellent reputation before I even met him. Recently, we worked on a case with a unified goal in mind. What I have heard of him previously was confirmed. Herson is smart, diligent and gets results. Through his representation of his client and listening him speak with the prosecutor, I witnessed his professionalism, knowledge of the law and strategic persuasion corner the prosecutor into having no choice but to nolle pross (drop) the case. Anyone who finds himself in legal trouble will have an aggressive advocate on their side. I highly endorse Herson Merino and the Right Path Law Group."
"Attorney Merino, is an well poised attorney. He is versatile and has the ability to address the many needs of each client with attention to detail."
"Herson is a dedicated defense attorney. He carefully prepares and guides his clients to great outcomes in their cases. I highly recommend him."
"I endorse this lawyer.I have known Mr. Herson Merino from law school. Mr. Merino is a fierce fighter for his clients and I would not hesitate to hire Herson as my personal attorney. I can attest that he does a great job. I would definitely recommend him in the area of Criminal law."
"Herson Merino is an excellent attorney. First, Mr. Merino knows the law. His mastery of criminal law and related issues is impressive. Whether it's a serious violent crime or a simple traffic case, Mr. Merino knows the in's and out's and uses that to his clients' advantage. Second, Mr. Merino is a sincere counselor. He uses his legal expertise, practical knowledge of the consequences of various criminal sanctions, and personal skills, including his fluency in Spanish, to advise his clients of their best course of action. Finally, Mr. Merino is fearless. There are many attorneys who talk tough about fighting cases and taking them to trial but then cower when the cards are on the table. Mr. Merino is ready, willing, and able to take cases to trial on behalf of his clients and fight for them in the courtroom. I have had the pleasure of working and collaborating with Mr. Merino and he has my resounding endorsement."
