Carl David Somerlock

Carl was incredibly professional and knowledgeable. He tore oppositions witnesses to shreds on the stand and made his arguments incredibly clear and conscise. We asked him to represent us the day before our hearing around 3:00pm. His response " What court? What time? Scan and email me everything, I'l...l see you tomorrow." True to his word, he posted the next morning and obliterated the other side. He is also one of the 4 attorneys I know who actually care about the system and fight the injustice and imbalance citizens face at the hands of our justice system. I admire his ethics, sense of justice and responsibility to uphold the oath he took.

I was caught driving with a suspended license and a long list of other issues - I was very nervous because this was my second offense driving while suspended (Carl was able to get the first driving-while-suspend dismissed 6 months prior). I also have a 5-page driving record. Carl was able to complet...ely put me at ease helping me understand the charges, the worst case scenario, and the best case scenario. He was also able to tell me beforehand what the court would offer, what we would then ask for, and what we could expect to get - and he got me the best possible outcome - charges were put aside as a stet and I had no community service, no court costs, no fines, no points. Had a way better outcome than I would've believed possible and he was very supportive and reassuring throughout.

Mr. Somerlock's demeanor was amateurish, unprofessional, and his work substandard at best. During his representation Mr. Somerlock failed to provide the basics as listed below: 1. Consult with me before filing motions on my behalf; 2. Provide copies of any filings or discovery; 3. Provide hear...ing notices; or 4. Return phone calls made in attempt to rectify the situation; Mr. Somerlock's representation turned a 90 day misdemeanor into a 9 month saga. His opprobrious & reprehensible conduct has left an indelible, negative impression of the entire legal profession.
