Satisfied in Odenton

I retained Ms. Smollon to handle my custody/child support case. Going into this ordeal, I knew it would be stressful and that I also did not want to be stressed out about the case or dealing with my ex. Having Alicia satisfied that requirement. She handled the case with ease, always letting me know m...y options and how we should move forward. She responded to my emails and returned my phone calls; and within those communications, she was very forthcoming with information. I received timely notifications of court requested documentation/actions. She ensured that I was prepared for every court hearing/appearance. Alicia was very approachable and very down-to-earth. Most times, I felt bad because I knew the type of person my ex was and how his "personality" would drag this case out. It didn't phase Alicia at all. She'd been down this road before and these things weren't new to her. Because of her professionalism and her expertise, she was able to handle all the bumps in the road from the other side. At times, she was even able to handle my emotions and respectfully calm me down so we could get back on track. And let me tell you, that takes skill. At the end of the day, I would solicit her services if ever I have to go down this road again. I allowed her to be a lawyer, while I remained a client. She did her job. Although my emotions wanted my ex to have NOTHING, she ultimately negotiated the BEST outcome for me, my ex, and our kids. And for that I am truly GRATEFUL.

Want to feel ignored?

Alicia turned out to be the most inattentive attorney I have ever dealt with. She ignored multiple important emails and was in my opinion negligent in representing me. Alicia presents on the telephone much differently than after you retain her. During my time as her client, I sent emails and called, ...all to be ignored. She was rude and disrespectful to my spouse who had valuable insight into my situation and could articulate some of the events better than I could. Not being open to pertinent information from my spouse hurt my case greatly as it left huge gaps of important information out. Alicia made me feel like I was representing myself ; looking for answers that never came or came too late. Alicia became very "short" and "curt" with me as time progressed. She was not supportive of fighting for me as a client and I felt completely alone. In court, Alicia's representation was complacent. In the end, I was left with little to no answers and confusion about the outcome of the hearing. She ultimately stopped representing me without notice. If you are looking for a competent and aggressive attorney who will pay attention to the details of your case, Alicia Smollon is not a good match.
