Michael Bakhama is a partner at Nusinov Smith LLP, where he focuses his practice on all aspects of trusts and estates, including estate planning for high-net-worth individuals and complex estate and fiduciary litigation. Before joining Nusinov Smith, Mr. Bakhama was an associate at DLA Piper LLP (US) in its Baltimore office. There, he represented clients in a broad range of practice areas, including trusts and estates, commercial litigation, and appellate advocacy, in addition to an active pro bono practice involving novel issues of constitutional law and criminal procedure.
Mr. Bakhama received his J.D., summa cum laude, from the University of Maryland Carey School of Law (2013) and his B.S., summa cum laude, from Towson University (2007). While in law school, he received the William Strobel Thomas Prize for attaining the highest scholastic average in his graduating class; the Judge Roszel Thomsen Prize for excellence in Federal Jurisdiction; the Levin & Gann Award for excellence in Estates and Trusts; and served as a research assistant, teaching assistant, and on the editorial board of the Maryland Law Review.
Mr. Bakhama has been an adjunct professor at the School of Law since 2015.
