You can insist that the deposition be taken by zoom. Just because you are not a party does not mean you can avoid a deposition.

You re in a hotel, not an apartment. You do not have a lease. They can kick you out if you are not paying for the room.

You can sue you or in-law in the district court of your county. You have to be able to prove they were living there and not you.
