Michelle Daugherty Siri

Ms. Siri is the Executive Director of the Women's Law Center of Maryland (WLC). The WLC is a leading voice for justice and empowerment for women across the state.  Through its three arms of advocacy, education, and direct legal services representation, it has remained a vital organization over the last forty years by continually evolving to address the legal issues women face. Serving over 11,000 individuals in the last year alone through direct services and education programs, WLC protects the safety, stability and rights of Maryland women and their families.  Among its many crucial activities, the WLC testifies in Annapolis in favor or opposition of legislation affecting women, operates Family Law and Employment Law Hotlines, and represents victims of domestic violence in protection order hearings and in immigration matters.  

     In addition to her professional career, Ms. Siri has spent much of her free time supporting the community through a variety of local organizations.  Having volunteered with Planned Parenthood of Maryland (PPM) for over a decade, Ms. Siri joined the Board of Directors in 2008, serving in a variety of roles, including Chair of the Funding Diversification Committee, Co-Chair of the PPM Spring Gala, Vice-Chair of the Board, and member of the Executive Committee.  She began her two-year tenure as Chair of the Board in July of 2014.  She is also a current board member of the University of Maryland School of Law Alumni Board.   She was named one of Maryland’s Leading Women in 2012 by The Daily Record and was honored on their VIP List in 2013.  In 2015 she was honored to be listed by The Daily Record as one of Maryland's Top 100 Women.  She is admitted to practice law in Maryland and the District of Columbia and before the U.S. District Court for the District of Maryland and the U.S. Circuit Court for the Fourth Circuit.  

       In her spare time Ms. Siri enjoys running, biking, and swimming, having completed over a dozen half marathons and four triathlons.  She also enjoys camping, hiking, and spending time with her husband, 2 young children, and rescue dog.
