David Beckham Irwin

David was hired ($5000, retainer) proactively in anticipation of potential defense for false allegation that was made by a perpetrator and to aid in making sure the criminal case against the perpetrator was perfected. For obvious reasons, a charge was never made against me and unbelievably David tri...ed to take credit for it when he had not done any active investigation into the matter despite many requests of him to do so. In addition, we asked that David conduct a proper investigation by interviewing key witnesses and to talk with prosecutor off the record to make sure the Prosecutor put on the best case possible against the perpetrator to get a conviction for the heinous assault. He had 4 months to prepare and to our dismay never interviewed his client in person until a few days before the trial against the perpetrator which was only done after many calls were placed to his office saying he was not doing his job. He never interviewed the witnesses, he never conducted an investigation, he never followed up with the inept prosecutor. The prosecutor never charged me for the obvious reasons as there was no reason to do so as I was truly the victim and yet David tried to take credit when in fact he had not done any investigation other than speak with me over the phone. When it was discovered the prosecutor clearly had the wrong witnesses to prove up the case against Perpetrator, despite many calls to David to intervene, he was never followed up. In addition, he was not very thorough, he was not engaged, he was dismissive and not thoughtful or strategic about the information being given to him. He was degrading, dismissive and at times, egotistical and somewhat beligerant even talking down about having to be on the case to a colleague in front of his client who clearly was the plaintiff/victim. It was obvious that David felt this case was beneath him and the ultimate outcome of not getting a conviction against the perpetrator was the result of David not staying on top of the case or doing the job he was hired to do.

I came to Mr. Irwin as a person afraid and worried about potential charges against him. I had never been arrested, charged, or even spoken to the police until the week before I called him. I didn't know what to do, what not to do, if I was going to jail, etc. I was lost at my next steps. After spe...aking to David, he quickly spelled out what's going on, what could happen, and more importantly got to the bottom of the case so quickly that everything was closed within 4 days. Not only am I worry-free and was never arrested, he went about it in a way that soothed my fears as I awaited more news. He told me that I would be fine, and proved it with his actions. Law enforcement never contacted me again. Mr. Irwin is a good person, a smart man, and more importantly great at his job. I hope I never have to speak to him again, but if I do he's the first person I'm calling with legal troubles. I recommend him without a doubt. He's straight to the point with both his style and humor, and doesn't "beat around the bush". He doesn't believe in wasting your time.
