Andrew Kevin O'Connell

Mr. O’Connell is an attorney at Murphy, Falcon & Murphy, where he crafts complex litigation strategies on behalf of a wide range of clients nationally and in Baltimore, including multi-national corporations, real estate investors, and victims of mass torts. He is also responsible for researching, drafting, and arguing pretrial motions, deposing fact and expert witnesses, and drafting discovery in preparation for trial. 

 

In 2006, Mr. O’Connell successfully appealed a case before Maryland’s Court of Special Appeals concerning a land installment contract under Title 10 of Maryland’s Real Property Article, resulting in a reported opinion by the court. Whitaker v. Whitaker, 196 Md.App. 312, 901 A.2d 223 (2006.) 

 

Prior to his tenure at this firm, Mr. O’Connell was a senior associate at the Baltimore-based Cowie and Mott, P.A., where he litigated construction defect claims on behalf of condominium associations, commercial property owners, and home owners located in the greater Baltimore-Washington area. Before Cowie and Mott, P.A., he was an associate attorney at Andre’ R. Weitzman and Associates, where he enjoyed working on behalf of individuals victimized by the fraudulent property “flipping” that plagued Baltimore City during the late 1990s and early 2000s. 

 

Mr. O’Connell also has experience representing business owners in actions against their former partners and litigating claims arising from professional negligence and the sale of commercial and residential real estate. 

 

Mr. O’Connell graduated cum laude from Providence College in 1996 and from the University of Maryland School of Law in 2000, where he served as Editor of Case Comments for the Federal Circuit Bar Journal as well as staff member for the Journal of International Law and Trade.
