Laura Anne Simmons

SInce January of 2019, Ms. Simmons has been a Partner at Silverman Thompson, where she represents personal injury victims. Prior to working at Silverman Thompson, Ms. Simmons was a Partner at the Law Offices of Frank F. Daily, where she exclusively practiced insurance defense in the areas of general civil litigation, personal injury, premises liability, products liability, and construction defect.

Prior to joining the Law Offices of Frank F. Daily in 2005, Ms. Simmons spent over eight years as an in-house trial attorney for Nationwide Insurance Company. Prior to joining Nationwide, Ms. Simmons spent two years at a civil defense firm focusing on appellate practice, toxic torts, workers compensation, and insurance coverage defense.

Throughout her career, Ms. Simmons has handled countless jury and non-jury trials throughout most of the jurisdictions in Maryland and in the District of Columbia. She has also handled administrative hearings at the Maryland Insurance Administration, binding arbitration proceedings and appellate briefing and argument before the Court of Special Appeals of Maryland. In addition to her extensive trial experience, Ms. Simmons has also taught and lectured in the areas of trial advocacy, civil litigation and claims handling, including serving as an Adjunct Professor for the University of Maryland School of Law, teaching First Year Legal Analysis & Writing, in 2005.
