She's Wonderful!

I had a case where an ex client was harassing me, threatening me and my home, and more... I was so scared. I didn't know what to do. Jessica was recommended by a friend of mine. She was just wonderful - understanding, caring, proactive, knowledgeable. I knew I could trust her from the first moment we... talked, and she held my hand through the entire process. I can't recommend her enough!

Terrible Experience

I retained Ms Murray as my attorney on November 23RD, 2016 for a divorce case. At that time I provided a binder with information related to the case and other documents that was unrelated to the case . At this initial meeting was also her office manager. I showed them what documents was related to my... case and the other documents they should ignore. They ask to retain the binder for a short period of time in order to copy the documents related to the case. I also at that time informed them of a prenuptial agreement that was part of the documents to be copied. I also informed Ms Murray of my goals related to the divorce proceedings. I only required that the possessions that remained in my wife home be returned. I had no other demands or requirements. Ms Murray did review the prenuptial while I was present. In early February, 2017, I had called on three occasions in order to retrieve my binder and to obtain information related to my divorce case. I received no return phone call. In addition I had utilized her office portal communication system which I had sent two questions/statements unrelated to the binder or the case prior to seeking the return of my binder. One question was related to providing a referral for an attorney in DC and the other to let them know they had misspelled my name on the portal communication file. I never received any response to these communique. I did send a communique through her portal system on Feb 18TH, 2017 requesting my binder and being upset over not receiving any response to my inquires. I finally received a telephone message from the office manager apologizing for the non-returned phone calls and written communiques. She reported in the message that she had been hospitalized and due to errors in the hospital her recovery took longer than expected. She also in the messaged provided her personal cell phone number if I was unable to reach anyone at the office. When I returned her phone call I again was in contact with their answering service. I did attempt to call the office manager phone but no response. A few days later I learned from the answering service that the office manager was hospitalized again. I received no return phone call from the attorney. On one occasion I was told by the answering service to come to the office the next day to obtain my binder. We specified a time when someone will be in the office to return my binder. I came to the office at the time stipulated and waited an hour and no one was there to return my binder. I had called the office three times or more while waiting in the lounge area. The answering service was perplex that no one was in the office. After other frustrating events a new office manager provided my binder on April 18TH, 2017. After more attempts to discuss my case with this attorney I finally sent a communique through her portal system with her staff members cc on the communique. Within two hours the attorney responded through her portal communique. After a few exchanges of communication through this system the attorney no longer wanted to represent me and had provided options that I could take to have someone represent me at an upcoming scheduled phone conference. Her options turned out to be erroneous and she had to by law represent my case at this conference until the judge decided her withdraw from my case. Her wanting out of this case was due to in her words communication barriers that was unsolvable. She was right because she put in a document that I had no knowledge or had forgotten their was a prenuptial agreement which she attempted to have the prenup thrown out which I knew was lunacy. I was the one who required the prenuptial prior to our marriage and had discussed it with this attorney at our initial meeting. There were other misrepresentation in court documents that I disagreed with and had told the attorney my concerns. I will pursue this event through the Attorney Grievance Commission of Maryland.

Sir, You forgot to mention the many times that myself and my staff emailed and called you, in which you did not respond. Your review also fails to mention that you missed three scheduled appointments to retrieve your materials from my office. As we had discussed, I have a small staff, and as a result, you need to schedule an appointment to come to the office. When you came, unannounced to my office, my paralegal was in the hospital and I was at court. The allegation that my answering service informed you that my paralegal was still in the hospital is false, as the answering service was never given that information. Often you spoke with me or my paralegal, and the next time you called, you would indicate that you did not remember the conversation. In regards to the indicated telephone conference, I did represent you during the telephone Schedule Conference and provided you with the agreed upon dates from that Scheduling Conference. A statement of everything that occurred during the telephone Scheduling Conference was emailed to you. After the Scheduling Conference, the Court granted my Motion to Withdraw as your attorney. This was done properly through Court procedure and as indicated by you, you were advised of your rights. Please note that I am not providing any additional information regarding our communications, as this is a public forum and despite your attack on me, I do not want to divulge any information regarding our communications that could harm you. If you would like to discuss your complaints, I am more than happy to do so in private communications, where I am able to discuss specifics of your case and our communications. Thank you. Jessica L. Relationship: Opposing Counsel on matter

"I have had the privilege of opposing Jessica Murray in a Final Protective Order hearing. Attorneys do not have a lot of time to prepare for these hearings; I think I introduced some relatively uncommon legal issues to the case, but Ms. Murray was quick on her feet in the courtroom. She was well prepared and fought vigorously for her client."
