I personally employed Mr Storms in the late nineties to guide me through the immigration process when I was hired as an Assistant Professor in Virginia. He came highly recommended by a collleague. He was very knowledgeable and most personable giving clear instructions over the phone and preparing per...sonalized questionnaires to fill out to elicit required information from my fellow faculty. The window of time when we could have depended on the search conducted to hire me had expired so the immigration process at the time required that my position be readvertised. One of those applying for the position challenged the idea that I was the best fit for the job. Mr Storms comforted me through this understandably anxiety-inducing contingency and wisely and deftly guided me through the process of countering this challenge. He drove from Maryland to Norfolk to accompany me to the interview and advised me on the best way to address it. Years later, I hired him to apply for my citizenship. He very frankly told me that this was an easy process which I could do myself. But, I detest paperwork and I insisted on hiring him to do it. Once again, he was well worth his fee but this time I attended my interview on my own. I don't quite understand the negative reviews I've read of this fine lawyer. I speculate that the service one's employer contracts for with an immigration lawyer might differ from the service an individual can contract for directly. My sense is that immigrating to the US is an important enough matter to actually pay for the services of a lawyer oneself. Mr. Storms fees were eminently reasonable and the service he delivered was beyond excellent.

I am now a US citizen so I don't have to deal with immigration paperwork anymore, but I wanted to warn anybody considering hiring this Lawyer for immigration purposes. I worked with him through my employer and it did not go well. There were lots of mistakes in the paperwork and my application got au...dited and I had to file it again. He did not respond to his clients in time and did not want to understand their concerns (I guess at least he was respectful to my employer so the company kept him for a while). My coworkers who needed immigration processes faced similar problems. In my point of view, every application is different and the lawyer should take care of the clients' concerns in a professional way. He is not the one who listens to clients' concerns and takes care of them. The immigration lawyer should be patient with clients with language barriers (that's the main reason why the immigration lawyer exists to handle important paperwork without mistakes). He is not the one that I would hire if I have another chance.
