Jessica Kay Keister

Jessica Keister joined Family Legal Advocacy Group (FLAG) as an Associate Attorney in 2022. Jessica's practice focuses on all areas of family law with a focus on protective orders, adoptions, 3rd party custody and LGBTQ advocacy. She is very focused on helping families resolve their issues in a timely, cost-efficient manner that allows for a new beginning and brighter future.

In May 2018 Jessica received her Bachelor’s Degree in Political Science and Psychology from Salisbury University graduating cum laude. She then attended the Catholic University of America, Columbus School of Law in Washington, D.C., where she earned her Juris Doctor degree in May 2021. Jessica was admitted to the Maryland Bar in January 2022.

During law school, Jessica worked as a law clerk for a Howard County family law firm, where she discovered her interest and passion for family law. Jessica also worked as a student attorney in her law school's Immigrant and Refugee Advocacy Clinic (IRAC) where she had the opportunity to represent low-income immigrant clients with their immigration matters and related family law matters. Throughout law school, Jessica worked in various law clerk positions ranging from the Maryland Office of the Public Defender to the Children’s Law Center in Washington, D.C.

Prior to joining FLAG, Jessica served as a judicial law clerk to Family Magistrate Gwendolyn S. Tate at the Circuit Court for Baltimore City, where she helped unrepresented litigants navigate the Maryland family court system and saw first-hand how family-related issues play out in the courtroom especially when parties lack representation to assist with highly emotional family law matters.

As the daughter of Air Force retirees, Jessica had the unique experience of growing up in various places, from California to Texas to Japan. She now resides in Howard County with her four-legged daughter Wendy, where she enjoys working out, reading, and spending time with family and friends.
