Cynthia May Lifson

Cynthia M. Lifson opened her law office on the first Monday in October of 1993 following a judicial clerkship in Baltimore City’s Circuit Court. She concentrates on matters related to families and provides services in the area of domestic relations and estates and trusts. Cynthia has represented clients as an attorney in Maryland courts and as a lobbyist before the Maryland General Assembly. These professional experiences have shaped her outlook on managing conflict. To the extent possible, Cynthia helps people with divergent interests to achieve a reasonable and acceptable resolution. She emphasizes mediation and collaborative law approaches for her clients. She is also mindful that careful drafting of documents such as wills, trusts, powers of attorney and advance health care directives not only clarify the wishes of her clients, but serve to avoid family conflict during stressful times.

Cynthia has written articles on diverse legal topics for local journals and has been a guest lecturer to various non-profit organizations. She is an active volunteer in professional and service organizations in her community in Central Maryland. She graduated from Smith College, majoring in government, and received her Master’s Degree in International Relations from the Johns Hopkins School of Advanced International Studies. Cynthia received her law degree from the University of Maryland at Baltimore.
