Roberto Carlos Martinez

Mr Martinez as of May 2022 is the District Court Supervisor for the Montgomery County Maryland Public Defenders Office. I consulted with him as both a victim and as via power of attorney a Defendant for which he and his office was assigned. The young women who is mentally handicapper and suffers ...from mental and substance abuse issues (as per the cout() has been jail , refused mental care, and has not had a trial. Mr Martinez assumed responsibility for her for his office in April 2022 stating he would run point for the Junior attorneys (though himself has only been practicing 4 years and already the supervisor). He has missed appointments he made with the Defendant (mentally handicaped young black women) and when alerted to this made no effort to rectify, consequently she calls me daily crying and not sure what’s going on. In his stated position of running point, he stated he would be working with the State Attorney’s office, her private attorney for Baltimore ( I helped to fund) to create a global solution for her legal efforts in Montgomery County and Baltimore county. I can say with certainty, I have communicated far more with all the parties, and can say he has yet to communicate with Ms Kelton as he wrote me he would. He has also botch the communications needed with Baltimore attorneys where by they were to submit joint motions to get the poor women to treatment while she awaited trial. Furthermore, Montgomery County claims to have the best jail facility mental health program (JAZ) in the state where it is believed she would be treated till transferred to a non-jail facility. But instead, she rot is solitary confinement except for her two breaks to call me. Mr Martinez has failed to provide the expert representation his new boss is said he provides (and perhaps part of the problem is the lame duck status of the outgoing lead public defender Alan Wolf for whom I wrote several times regarding the inadequate representation and broken promises or Mr Martinez. I would not recommend him, instead I believe he should be brought before the Maryland attorney grievance commission to explain his failings and why this handicaped women is mentally tortured and crying every night and the PDs office refuses to talk to her or get her treatment.
